About the team

Cambourne Town FC Walking Football sessions run on a Friday morning 1000-1100.

  • Location is the Cambourne Everyone Active 3G pitches;
  • Walking Football sessions are aimed at the over 50's, and are a great way to keep active and meet new people;
  • We are very keen to introduce new players to the game, no experience necessary, and the sessions are mixed gender - all are welcome;
  • Safety is of paramount importance, and the rules we play to are designed to protect individual safety and health at all times.

NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

Cambourne Town Football Club wants it’s Over 50s Walking Football sessions to be safe and accessible to everyone and welcomes all players, ladies and gents, whether they have just turned 50, or they are in their 80s. Even if you have never played football before – it doesn’t matter!

Walking Football is a safer version of the game with strictly no running, strictly no tackling and minimal physical contact to ensure a safer playing environment.

The benefits of Walking Football are many, in addition to a bit of physical exercise where you can play at your own pace, it is also great for mental wellbeing and provides a chance to meet new friends. The sessions are designed to be fun, enjoyable and only lightly competitive where the score is not really important.

Currently there is room for new players at the Friday sessions, which start at 10am and finish about 11am, leaving time for an all important cuppa, biscuit and chin wag afterwards at 'The Dugout' adjacent to the pitch.
